This is a festival of Okinami Suwa Shrine, held on August 14 and 15 to pray for safety at sea and a good catch. On the 14th, five kiriko lanterns dance with a portable shrine until late at night in Ebisu Hall in Ebisuzaki, Anamizu Town. On the 15th, five lanterns gather on Tatsuto Beach at 9:00 am, and go into the sea and dance wildly, with a lot of splashing, accompanied by the music of flutes and bells played by children. The kiriko lanterns are 7m tall, and have auspicious characters written on them. This is a typical kiriko festival that involves dancing in the sea. In contrast to other Noto festivals with highlights in the evening, this festival reaches its climax in the daytime.
